The Stranger Gets a Gift Library is a collection of Touring box-books that visit homes on request. It is a series of four volumes each inspired by true events. While visiting a foreign land, I engaged in a long-term exchange with four strangers. I invited them to create a gift for whoever they chose and invested more than a year helping this happen. Failure, mourning, superstition, bad drawings, sorority, the support of many friends, among other things, emerged unexpectedly from these Strangerships (stranger + relationship). These experiences made it very clear that giving is not a one-way action, but on the contrary, it is an uncontrollable returning force projected in multiple directions.
These boxes contain personal cherished objects that carry the story and a message between lines, they conform a small exhibition that you can enjoy in the intimacy of your personal space. They visit homes on request, and continue traveling, accumulating an added brief note (written or in the form of objects) that receivers pass to one another, being a friend or complete strangers.
